I'm pretty sure my '01 model had one. Not sure about the '05 line though. Do you feel you need a temperature gauge? My Marauder doesn't have one, but it doesn't bother me.

Didn't it come with a manual? Didn't you read it cover to cover?

My GSX 1400 doesn't have a temperature gauge either - I've considered installing an after-market oil-temperature sensor, but haven't gotten around to picking one up. Haven't really missed it, to be honest.

If you know you're going to be stuck in traffic for a while, just turn the bike off. Bikes overheat very quickly when they're not moving and getting air through the radiator. When your bike starts getting very hot, you should hear the cooling fans kick on. At that point, if you know you won't be moving anywhere for a while, it would be a good idea to just turn it off. The bike isn't going to overheat when riding unless your cooling system (air/oil) fails.
