hey everyone!...I'm a 46yr old industrial plastics worker here in central VA. I am presently without a two wheeler and have been for quite a few years. I'm sure many of you can relate to how expensive it can be to try and maintain a hobby or interest while you're raising a couple of kids. But now the little ones have grown and flown the nest (I gotta say, I got remarried 3yrs ago and this empty nesting thing pretty darn cool) One of mt best friends recently purchased a Honda Shadow for himself and his wife became so intrigued she snapped up a Suzuki Boulevard for herself. My new bride has no such interest but has no objections to my getting a bike for myself. I took my buddy's Shadow for a short spin and what a blast I had. I owned a Honda 400 Hawk (my first bike) back in 79 or 80. I later stepped up to a Suzuki 380GT triple and that bike was an absolute hoot to ride! That 2 stroker would really sing. especially after I added a set of K&N air filters. The growl of the intake with that screaming exhaust was just music. I then hit a long dry spell without a bike until I was wooed by a Honda Helix. My kids were still pretty young at the time and the Helix was inexpensive, economical and fun to ride. I eventually had to sell it due to job layoffs and I promised myself to step up to a touring machine later in life. Years have passed and the bike market and my tastes have changed. Now a big touring bike seems like expensive overkill for the amount of riding that I'll probably do. I really like the new Boulevard C50T aside from its whitewall tires and Harley-esque exhaust pipes, which just arent my taste. I really dislike how the whole cruiser market is chasing Harley instead of making its own statement (like the Valkyrie) I liked the Intruders better than the new Boulevards. I also have to admit that I'm very impressed with the Burgman 650 and the things I'm seeing on the horizon of the market (the G-Strider is just killer!)...maybe soon I'll find that new bike I just cant live without...and I think Suzuki will probably provide it.
