Well guys I did the noob mistake, I parked my bike locked the front disc. I came back an hour later got on the bike to take off and i forgot to remove the lock (DOH!) I didn't even hit it that hard just a little tug, but after I took it off I noticed I had to pump my front barkes to get pressure back. I already tried to bleed them a little but I still have to pump them, any suggestions guys?

1st thing I'd check is the lines. Make sure theres no leaking tears in the brake lines. 2nd check your brake fluid reserve. Is there sufficient fluid in there, how much does the fluid drop when braking.

did you check the resivour while bleeding? u might have bled all the fluid out and nothing is compresing the pistons
and check all the lines...should find the problem quick.

Ya, I checked the fluid resevoir, it was full. I then bleeded the brakes just a little bit not all the way. I also checked the lines for any rips or anything else. All of those pieces seem to be fine. Somebody told me that I bent the brake disc? Would this occur if that was the case? It seems to be a pressure problem to me?

Who told you that? I highly doubt that is the case. A bent or warped disc will usually result in a "pulsing" feeling while riding. Bike will still function normally. Try pumping and holding the lever for a few minutes. See if the pressure goes down.

Quite honestly, if there is no fluid on the ground or visible around the calipers or master cylinder, than it is not leaking. I have had leaky calipers before, and believe me, I knew it.

That is why I hate disc locks. They usually cause more problems than they are worth. Believe me, you aren't the first person I have seen do that, myself included.

Could be either, neither or maybe one or the other. It is hard to diagnose without being there. I would try going for the complete bleed of the system. Then see what happens. I would also pull the calipers and inspect for damage before bleeding, just in case something is amiss in there that we are overlooking.

I have also seen quirky things happen with older master cylinders.

Which year and model bike is this again?

This is off a 97 GSXR 600, tonight I will remove the front wheel for a thoro inspection. If all looks good then I will do a complete bleeding. I have done car brakes, but never done bike brakes. How would I do a complete bleed? Thank you very much for your help it is greatly appreciated.

you did warp the rotor, you won't get a pulse till you get hard on the brakes at higher speed, they are floating rotors and you won't notice the warp at lower speeds or light pressure. If you pump the break and it feels ok, but once you move down the road and you need to pump it again, the rotor is not running true and pushing the pistions in the caliper back to far. Good luck with it, rotors are very expencive. You can have them strightened.
