When riding my 125 4 stroke down hill should i hold in the clutch ? ... cuz i just wanna make sure im not diong anything wrong to make my engine work too hard etc etc. like me and my friends have this area of field where we "drag race" and after slowing down and turning i just hold in the cltuch and coast to the flat area. should i be doing that or using whatever gear. And getting there is just a big steep grass hill in my friends backyard. Should i use the clutch to coast down or use what gear?.. cuz if i use like 1 - 3 it sounds ilke the engine is running too hard. thank you, yes im new to dirtbiking

since you own a four-stroke, you can use the engine(engine braking) for slowing yourself down the hill depending on the size of the hill. Just drop her down a gear or two and let the engine do the rest. I use this method quite a bit on my thumper.
Works well :bluethum:

really it does not matter at all, what it does is when u coast without gas is the engine slows down due to less combustion forcing your bike to slow down. it cant hurt anything. just as soon as you stop gasing it down shift every few sec and it will keep slowing you to a final stop if u want

Well if u powerslide to a stop u dont want to be in forth since you stoping that will stall the engine if u want to powerslide you should hold the clutch to take stress off the engine
