Hello, I have some oil accumulating on the cylinder head fins during rides but am not sure where it would be coming from. It's just the left side and the lower fins under the gasket seem to remain clean.

I've changed the oil and synced the carbs but still doesn't seem to run all that smoothly. It takes a bit of cranking to start and I must leave the choke up a good ways even after it warms up. This is my 1st bike so any advice helps.

Usally an oil leak like that can be tracked down to a loose cover....probably the tappet cover in your case. You may just need to nip the bots up a tiny bit....do not over tighten them as it may also be the tappet cover gasket has failed. Some bikes run cold so leaving the choke on may be needed. A good dose of carb cleaner may help...a good quality one is advised....not sea foam.

good luck
