hey. new here but not to bikes. i obviously have a ducati (2001 996) but i also just got a 90 gsxr750. the guy who maintains my bikes had this suzuki and dumped it. he decided to buy a new bike and gave the 90 to me in trade for some leathers. the bike needs pretty much all new plastics, a front wheel, and a few minor parts. so my questions are........

1- could i swap the 90 wheels with ones from a 96+
2- will any of the 96+ plastics fit without a lot of fabrication

i ask because i have access to several newer gsxr parts and spares from friends who race. i may just go with airtech if it'd be too much work. i plan on using this bike as a learning tool for fixing/upgrading bikes since it cost me next to nothing.

what!?! he said he been riding a while, maybe he might be open to new things. go to uponone.com and look at some stuff there and see if you like it.

Been there, seen that. Some of those guys are very good at stunting. But, learning to stunt and training all the time takes a heavy toll on your bike. Sure ain't cheap, even with frame sliders and cages, so don't go there. Why pay money for a vehicle just to mess up the mechanics of it and pay to fix it. Just to wreck it again?! G'head and stunt. I'll be ripping up the corners while you dump your bike and have to trailer it away.

omg. that's too funny. one of the guys i know who has the plastics said the same exact thing the moment he heard i got it. he says keep the duc for the weekend rides and use the gsxr for stunts. i can do wheelies and a few little tricks but i'm 6'/270. i honestly don't trust myself doing that crazy ****. i'd be laying in bed with a broken neck about the second real trick i tried.

none the less i am test fitting the fairings today. it looks like i can even mount the headlamp without too much work. i might even swap plates and take it out for a bit providing the weather holds up.
