Based on Suzuki's 2003 and 2005 Bandit 1200/S accessory website, I ordered Delrin swing arm spools ($39.95) part # 99950-70544-BLK from Oneida Suzuki.

They wouldn't fit so I called Suzuki Customer Support and asked why they were on their site but won't fit. They said go to a dealer (big help). I went to a local dealer and they said the spools were for Suzuki sport bikes and the Bandit doesn't have the fittings for the spools.

So I emailed Oneida Suzuki about returning the spools. They responded with there would be a 25% restocking fee plus I pay for return shipping. I emailed again saying since it was Suzuki's fault I should not be penalized. I would not be returning them if they fit. After 11 days with no answer, I forwarded the email asking for a response. They replied with the following one sentence "All returns must be new in there (sp) unopened packages, these items are eligible for return with a 25% restocking charge.".

Now other than never buying from Oneida again, what should I do? Anyone out there need a new set of swing arm spools for their Suzuki sport bike?

If you ever buy from these guys, be SURE it is what you want!!

wow, sorry to hear that. i have dealt with them on many occasions, all of them good experiences. but then again, i never had to return anything. sounds tome like you will have to eat the 25% and the shipping if you want to return them, otherwise sell them on ebay and make your money back!

You didn't read the fine print did you??

Never order/buy anything without asking or reading what their return or exchange terms are.

And don't assume one companies rules apply to other companies. Your lucky you learned this lesson on only a $40 item instead of a $400 one.

Email them saying it's fraud (Which it is), that should get their attention. If there is a phone number; call and if someone picks up immediately ask for their supervisor and tell them the problem. Shoudn't be a problem once you talk to a person with a brain. If it becomes a problem I can ask my brother in law..........he's a lawyer(no fees hehe). Its worth your 40 bucks for a little educated lawer input isn't it? :D

Oh please it's not fraud. One Suzuki site tells you it will fit and then you order it from Oneida and now your blaming them cause someone else told you it would fit your bike??? But again that has nothing to do with Oneidas return/exchange policy which the only problem your dealing with.

I just noticed I had a typo on my original post. The spools were on the 2003 and 2004 sites. The 2005 update occured after I ordered the spools and complained to Suzuki Customer Service.

What did I do wrong when trying to add the link?

Dang, that sucks about the restocking fee.
I'd say yeah but this is direct from Oneida Site......

Like I said before, know the companies return/exchange policy before you order anything.

I had no intention of returning the spools. The return policy was of no concern. It didn't occur to me that Suzuki's website would be wrong. They were on the 2003 and 2004 accessory sites (and maybe earlier, I didn't go back that far). You would think a mistake like that would not have lasted at least 2 years. If it was only on one year and not others, I might have questioned it. The 2005 update came after I ordered them. Suzuki Customer Support didn't know if they fit anyway so I am not sure how I could have checked before ordering.

When I emailed Oneida about the problem, I said since it is Suzuki's fault, neither they nor I should be penalized and Suzuki should reimburse both parties so no one had a loss. There was no response except the generic form letter. Neither Suzuki nor Oneida attemped to fix the problem. Since I have a new Suzuki I have to deal with them (until I replace the bike) but I don't have to deal with Oneida.

If this is the way your going to think and then buy stuff on the net, your likely to repeat this mistake many times over...........

You may be right to an extend with reading the fine prints. However, most if not all merchants that enforce rigid extrenous charges do post the information up front to avoid the argument. They are a bit deceptive.

Even the best lawyer is not on readiness alert at all times on insidious daily things like a simple order of not so much money involved.

They declined my order "It was your bank sir." Ok. I called my bank and they had no showing of any activity with Oneida Suzuki. Call Oneida again, after finding himself trap with no more logical answer for me than it was my P O Box as a billing address for my credit card. Oh "We take mail fraud very seriously sir. you can have a P O Box and do whatever you want and never be cought." Wow, Mr. Oneida guy on the phone who even avoided to give his name.
Yes, there is erroneous information in the Suzuki catalog, even for this 2006 Boulevards. Tell me about the chrome billet "CHOKE COVER" In my fuel injection type bike (A C90T) where do I use such a part please? There is also the chrome oil filler cap billet and just chrome. From what I see in my bike it is under that chrome cover. Granted I am quite in the dark about bike knowledge. I am very new at this biking business.
I was being charge more placing an order over the phone and not even given the cortesy of an explanation or foredisclosure of extra charges when placing the order over the phone. Then when I questioned the difference in price from what I had seen online, I was put on hold. Never came back to the phone. Is this a pay and shut up Dictatorship?
Their prices are very attractive but caution with their shipping charges and these after the fact learned policies.
Their site is set in a way that a card with a P O Box is rejected. According to my experience with them it is not your credit card institution, it is them Oneida Suzuki.

My rant :D

That is one of the worst return policies I've ever seen. I've had good luck with them on the 4 or 5 orders I've placed and saved a lot of money (well the Jardine pipes had a few minor blemishes, but worth the price savings), but I can see how all that would go right down the drain with one bad order. I won't be ordering anything from them from now on. From the looks of it they will charge restocking fee and never refund shipping on everything, whether or not it was damaged or the wrong item. No returns after 5 days? Does this include the time it takes to get to you? Because my Oneida orders take a week or more to arrive from accross the country. This is a policy that gives the the leeway to do whatever they want, and that's very anti-consumer. It's not unlawful however, so I don't see any fraud there. It is buyer beware though, and I won't take the Oneida gamble anymore.

Oneida Suzuki sucks, we received a gift from someone which was purchased at Oneida Suzuki and it didn't fit so we asked if we could EXCHANGE it for a different size, obviously never used it, still had tags and in the plastic! They said "no" because it had to be returned within 5 days and we were like, how do we know when it was purchased? IT'S A GIFT! Plus the people there are rude and unhelpful anyway. Now we have this random new gift that we can't use.
