Yeah, but I think you meant "mirrors". I decided against them because first I didn't want additional wires streaming down the handlebars and second because the bike seemed visually unbalanced with the front signals removed from the forks and the rears in tact. I like the bullet style blinkers ... I'm keepin'em! Oh, look what else I ordered as a novelty item:

I only wish they were available in .45's ... When I ordered online, I forgot to add these to the cart. I called Cruiser Customizing and spoke with Anthony to add them and upgrade shipping too. He tried calling me back later with a shipping total but since I couldn't answer he left a message. When I spoke to him a while after, he told me that he included two sets of bullet valve-stem covers, one in brass and one in nickel at no additional charge ... COOL! These guys rock. I highly recommend them.

Woohoo ... it's on the way. Just checked UPS online and all the stuff is in the truck enroute to my house. I'll have it today! :-D Feels just like Christmas!

... edit ...
See! I told you it was like Christmas!! The best part is going to be that big brown box - I just KNOW IT!! Man! I can make a Fort, a boat, a GI Joe cabin ...

Hi,

I am new to the site, reason I was looking for a chat site was due to I am looking for new mirrors for my S50.

I found the exact ones you ordered but wanted to know what mirrors other Susuki owners liked.

I like your choice plus I have been looking at the grips you ordered. I am a girl so thought they may be a little big for me but just may have to order also.

Happy Riding,
Road Momma

Hopefully I'll get to install them Sunday. I'll post details when I'm done.

I also got the iso grips, throttle boss, kury stilletto footpegs, brake & shift cover just recently installed. the grips were pretty easy to put on, but you can't put the barend weights back on, and I forgot to pull out all the hardware from the handlebar before glueing the left grip. Some of the hardware was rattling inside my handlebars so I got some of that expanding fireplace spray foam stuff and sprayed a bit down there, after a day, no more rattle... so, if you do the iso grips, make sure to remove all the hardware before glueing and installing the grips. The throttle boss is pretty sick, took some getting used to, when I first rode after the install, it was way too easy to jump on the throttle. I'm used to it now and it really helps to cruise on the freeway.

What hardware is inside there?? And did you experience the same troubles with the shift lever cover that Zuki did?

there's a long screw & bolt that holds the barend weight onto the handlebar. I forgot to take out the bolt, washer, etc. The shift lever I thought was just fine. It's not the best quality, it's just a cover, but I think it looks and works just fine.

I'm going to attempt another try at it. Like you said, it's not the best quality (referring to the design of install). I do like the switchblade foot-pegs and think that now the brake pedal cover doesn't look too bad because of them.

Nick you have to use a lubricant of some type...I've heard of people using hairspray or water with a few drops of dish detergent in it and let dry after mounting....Zukidude and Blitz have done it...whats the proper way guys?

The best way is first dry fitting and making sure that you angle the grips where you want them ... e.g. to get a visual. Remove, and then sand the handlebar so the glue (basically superglue) can adhere properly. Spread the glue evenly all around the roughened handlebar area; evenly but sparingly. As the glue is wet, it will provide adequate lubricating for you to slide on the new grips. Wrap your hands around the rubber part of the grip towards the inside (the area facing toward the center of the handlebar). Install by sliding it using one continuous motion without stopping. It's how I did mine and I had absolutely no problems. You just have to use care and act swiftly. It also helps to be somewhat of a perfectionist. ;-)

I was able to slide it on without any of that. Just makes sure you sand the hell out of the handlebar where the old grip was, like in the instructions. Do a prefit, dry, and it should be able to slide on and slide back off. Now put a bunch of glue at the end and decrease the amount of glue to the backmost position of the new grip. Slide it on really fast and let it dry. Custom chrome & rubber ISO grips, yeah, they're bad. I did kinda notice the same thing as nickmimi with the rubber coming up and not making a perfect fit on the first hole, but after a week in the sun and palm sweat, it worked itself into position to stay.
