I did my first oil change at 1000km, but i did not change the oil filter.

Would you recommend changing the oil filter or would it be good till probably 2500km or so?

Dude.... your supposed to change your oil at 500 miles with the oil filiter for the first oil change.

you should change your filiter every time you change your oil.... theres not excuse not to 6018 i think is the fram filiter for the suzuki

I agree . . . you should change your filter at each change. Go buy a quart of oil and (quite messily) change your filter.

<don't use fram . . . that's like wdding up a paper towel and stuffing it in your oil system.>

Gotta agree there. While I personally have had no problems with them, I know those that have. The construction techniques on those are not that great. Go with K&N, or Factory Suzi. There are a couple of other options for some bikes that you can actually get at the auto parts store (Wix, Purolator, something like that) that are the exact same size as some of the bike filters, but I can't remember them now.

ALWAYS change your filter during the first oil change. However, I have known riders to change just their oil at 1,000 miles, and then do the filter at 3K.

looks like i am gonna have to change my oil again and change the filter
