i have 2003 DR400 less than 20hrs on bike and is now overheating. Has this been a problem with any other DRs?

Did you find out what's causing your bike to overheat? I have a 2002 DRZ 400S and my heat indicator light came on yesterday....but....my radiator fan never came on. The radiator is full.....I left it cool for a few hours and everything seems fine.....fan comes on when it gets hot....

Any ideas?

How do you know it overheated? Could the light be coming on too soon?

I really don't think it overheated.....I only went one mile..... But.....I can't be sure.

I assume the bike has a thermostat.....my concern is that the thermostat stuck shut. But...later that night the bike was fine.

Now I'm not sure what to think..

i did a some small mods to my muffler and im wondering with more flow could that cause the bike to run hotter? maybe rum more lean? in return to overheat.....
