anyone ever heard of this or seen it? I was talking to my buddy and he asked if I ever croutched down to look through it and I told him no. He said that he would just paint the back side of it then vs going out and buying a smoked one. Is this a dumb idea or what? Thanks for your input.

I don't think that it will look right unless you know how to paint and get good paint to make it look shiney and smooth. I got a chrome windshield that came with the bike since I bought it at a used dealer.

Sometimes on the highway when there is a big crosswind that I didn't have a non transparent one on my bike. Cuz I need to keep my head tilted up a lil to just see over the shield and it does a # on ur neck. I am looking to buy a yellow one to match my color of my bike that is transparent. The solid chrome is nice but I just don't like emliminating the ability to fully hung the tank and get tucked in when I want/need to.

Painting is permanent, plus it's illegal to not be able to see through it. I'd say try window tint. It could work if you know how to apply it appropriately, plus if anyone gives you **** (cops, inspection) you can peel it off. Also; if you mess up the paint, you;ll have to buy a new shield anyways.

are you sure that it is illegal to have ur windshield on your bike not able to see through. I got a chrome windshield that is not see through, it came with the bike from the used dealer, I have seen them on the internet. Curious why you say they are illegal since they will not obstruct your view unless you are crouched behind it.

//To my knowledge it is not illegal. My guess is it varies state to state.

I live in NY and any vehicle with tint on the front window that is very dark(like back windows in SUV's) is considered illegal. This is at least to the best of my knowledge but you can have colored films on the lenses. Stupid rule if you ask me but thats just my 2 cents.

I am making sense of what jay is talking about.

Jay we are talking about the windshield on the front of the bike, the usually clear shield that you duck down behind when you are hunging the tank @ high speeds. Not the Helmet Visor Shield.

Maybe thats what he was talking about when he was talking illegal.

Do you really want to ghetto-fy a nice bike like that? If you want a tinted windshield that badly, why not just break down and buy a tinted one instead of trying to jimmy-rig one?

You guys are prolly right. I could never make sense why you couldnt change them. My friend told me that, not good enought source for information. I agree with axel thou, spend the little more and just buy one, because if you mess it up it will look worse and you wasted your money on a can of paint
