First, welcome. We're very glad to have you.

There. That crap's out of the way and I can make my point. Very often, new members join to ask for help with a problem. We're glad to assist. We enjoy it, and often we learn as much as you do. However, it's a bit rude to ask for help and not bother to fill out your profile. You're asking us to take the time to write a response, which sometimes requires research on our part. The least you can do is take the few seconds necessary and fill in your location and bike.

These items are important for a number of reasons. First, any mechanical or technical questions require that we know what you ride. Duh. We shouldn't have to scroll to the first post to find out what it is. Second, your location is highly relevant for sales questions, since a store suggestion in Utah doesn't help a rider in the UK. It's also relevant for some technical questions. Elevation, weather, and terrain are all important information.

Really, though, it comes down to making an investment. You don't get anything for nothing. Consider it your dues. Fill out your profile.

Thanks.

Absolutely +1 !

I am also thinking that some people might not have scrolled down further enough to the additional information frame of the profiles.

How about this idea: without filling the profiles the systems don't accept registry (showing messages like "Please fill in xxxxxx.") - private info? it's only a part of the address and the bike maker :)

And for those of you who aren't totally familiar with forums ... use this link.

Or click on the User CP link near the top of the page, then pick Edit Profile in list of links on the left-hand side of the page that comes up.

I think I'm okie dokie on that part... am I? And believe it or not, yes... it does snow here in Hawaii, mostly on the mountain tops of Maui and Hawaii (the Big Island). Never snows in the city... darn! 8)

Yes, GregR1, you are right! What's confusing sometimes is that the island I live on is also called Hawaii, which is the biggest island in the state. If you're referring to the name of the state, yes, it's actually spelled H-A-W-A I-'-I. In the Hawaiian language, the " ' " is called a glottal stop, and would be pronounced "Havay'e" so to speak. The "w" is pronounced like a "v"...

This message is a post. The "string" of posts on this page, or a single discussion under one title, is a thread.

Welcome to M-J.

Looks like you found it. Good work. :)

Oh, and the little apostrophe (') goes before the remainder of your model year.
