.....alright here's the story:

I have 2000 Inruder 1500 LC

Put new pipes on the bike - all fine - but battery was low.

SO I quick-charged it and took the now awesome sounding bike for a spin...so far so good....then I made the big mistake of stopping at a parking lot to grab a smoke.

When trying to start the bike back up - no go. OK, I figure - battery ran out of juice...(since I had been starting it over and over to fix some issues with pipes, etc.).

Ok, no biggie, call my girlfriend to bring over some jumper cables - ok hooked the jumper cables, all the sudden sparks fly and the bike won't even turn on!
Meaning: turning the key = no lights coming on whatsoever.....

Well, crap, have it towed - check the battery, battery seems to be fine...charges and everything.....reinstall it, and STILL no lights coming on.

I checked the fuses but can't find anything wrong....and now I fear I might have fried something more vital then just blowing a fuse.

Any suggestions? I'm in dire need!!!!!

1. NEVER EVER jump a bike with a car. Especially a NEWER bike.

Did you check the MAIN fuse?!?!? (Normally located near the solenoid). I'll bet that is the culprit. Is a flat piece of metal, normally 30A.

If you are forced to jump it from a car battery, make sure the car isn't running.

Ok, I think I found it, Nut.

The manual shows a 30A fuse right between the starter relay and the ignition switch - that would make sense.

Is that the one you were talking about? Thanks for all your help so far guys!

That is the one. Check it out. It is easy to fry if you put too much juice through the electrical system. Also look for any other fuseable links. Normally there is just the one. Sometimes the factory will pull a fast one . . .

ok - I think I am royally $#^$%#$ -

NUT, by the way, the fuse did the trick and the bike actually turns on now - NOW to the next problem:

I replaced all the fuses (just to make sure) and when I turn the key lights some on and everything - upon trying to start the bike I can hear the starter relay click but no go other than that.

Checked the manual and what I read really doesn't comfort me much - looks like the starter motor is fried.

Looks like it's time to take it to the shop - unless you guys have any suggestions for me ))))o: - it's probably not to hard to install a new starter motor (I would hope),,,,how much would a new motor cost, any ideas, suggestions, help, advice?

Thanks in advance guys!!!!

Not too hot on bikes, but know electrics. There is a chance you just might need a new relay, sometimes if a relay gets a spike bigger than its top rating the contacts in it weld together, then the relay won't switch anymore....let us know how you get on.

Alright - I guess it's the starter motor - already placed a bid on a used one on eBay (o:

Well, one good thing out of all of this:
Finally I'm getting my hands dirty on the bike (since I am a newbie rider) and learn how everything is connected together and such (o:

Thanks for all your helps guys - I'm sure I'll be back soon with the next problem...lol.

Stay Safe!

P.S. the only thing that REALLY sucks now is that it's a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky, mid 70's - DAMN I wish I could take a ride right now (o:
