i just wanna know how people pull wheelie....i mean does your bike have to be full tuned to pop a wheelie on full throttle...my mate give his bike full throttle and it pops a wheelie...its amazing... he just goes from no throttle to full throttle and it pull the front wheel up nice and smooth...how do i do that?

also...my spark plug is always black...but dry...never wet...it runs fine though..is that normal?

The black but dry plug could indicate that the plug is too cold. Try going up to a hotter plug. Or your mixture could be a little rich.

My Intruder 800 does wheelies effortlessly, and I can't resist sometimes: I just love the look on the faces of the folks on sportbikes when I stand my cruiser up on the rear wheel and walk it across the parking lot...yeah yeah, I know, I should know better...

Wheelies 101:

I'm assuming you are wanting to wheelie your dirt bike.

Shouldn't be hard. I've never ridden a ts250 but the basics are the same for all bikes.

The bigger cc bikes (street & dirt) usually have no problems with closing the throttle in the power band and quickly opening it to get a wheelie. Some of the smaller cc bikes need help from the clutch.

The clutch is your best friend for wheelies. By pulling the clutch in, you allow the engine to rev up higher and faster than the chain and sprocket can actually apply to whatever you are driving on. When you let this out, it will cause the torque and accelerational force of the bike to be applied to the smaller front sprocket. This means that the weight of the front of the bike is the zone of least resistance and weight. The front end comes up. Simple.

So how do you do one? Easy. Practice makes perfect. Start small in a closed area.

1.) Ride along at a comfortable pace in 1st gear. For your first wheelies, try to get the bikes in its power band to make this easier. For example: If your bike really starts pulling around 5,000-6,000 rpms, get to around 5,500 rpms.
2.) Next pull the clutch lever in enough to get the clutch to slip. You can pull it in all the way but it isn't necessary.
3.) Give it a bit more throttle. You will need to increase your rpms. For most bikes that means about 2,000-3,000 more rpms for a small wheelie.
4.) Now let the clutch lever out smoothly and quickly. Like when you are trying to pull out into fast moving traffic.

You need to do steps 2-4 pretty fast. You probably won't get it the first few times so keep trying by giving it slightly more throttle after pulling in the clutch.

If you are doing this on a street bike make sure to give your tires time to warm up by driving around for a minute or two. (If you don't, you'll just spin your tire.) The rear brake is what will bring you back down if you get scared. Just tap it and the bike will come back down on two wheels.

There is a lot more that can be done after you get the basics. This is just for popping that front wheel up there. Once you get comfortable bringing the front wheel up high, you can actually ride them.

See above....

To start, probably around 6,000 rpms and then clutch-throttle-let out.
Get her up to at least 8,000rpms. You should get a small wheelie. Its more about feel than reading the exact rpm. Once you feel it, then look down and you'll see what I'm talking about with rpms. Those rpm ranges were just a guidline to help you know where to start.

Let me know how its coming along.

Those mushrooms will help, but put on your scuffed fairings. Wouldn't wanna break the nice ones.

I "learned" how to wheelie on my gsxr1000, it's a 2002, easiest bike in the world to wheelie, not the best bike to learn on but too late now. I just never bothered to try before, clutch is not needed, not even in third with the 1000. I have a friend that can wheelie a 250 ninja, and if that oversized son of a gun can wheelie that bike, anything can be wheelied. I''ve got some great footage of another friend of mine stunting his cbr900rr if some one wants to see, I'll try E-mailing it.

guys, I just had a majour problem with my comp, I'm not good with them and had to reinstall everything, so now everything I had is now long gone. I'm really sorry and it really pisses me off, trust me. I'll see if I can get some more vid footage of my buddy. The kind of stuff I'm talking about is no handed wheelies standing up or sitting down, the guy is truly amazing, I will try to get more footage.
