Power Commander III Necessity, or…Not?

Ok, here is my question, will I benefit from installing a Power Commander 3 USB on my bike, or not? I have a 2004 Suzuki GSX-R 1000, the only modifications I currently have done to the bike is a K & N air filter, and a Yoshi TRS tri-oval bolt on can. I can purchase the power commander for cost, this is the only reason I am even considering it. But…if I am not going to benefit from the modification, then I don’t see it being a practical move. Although maybe sometime down the line, I am considering a new header and mid-pipe for the bike. Thoughts, views, suggestions, all input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey EMS ... why didn't you point out that UB misspelled traffic :)
Back to the topic at hand ...

If I could get ahold of a PCIII at cost ... I would, no questions asked. If you are going to make any mods later (new exhaust, etc.) you'll need to re-map the engine to get optimal performance - if you don't re-map it, you could do damage because it's running too rich or too lean.

The issue that UB is having (as far as I understand) is the philosophical question as to WHY you would want to make performance modifications. The stock Gixxer 1L has more power than you'll ever need on the street ...
Not to quote myself or anything ...

So yes, if you can get one cheap, do it. And you will just have to live with the fact that some of us are jealous about it that you can get ahold of a PCIII so cheap ...
Whew ... good price. I can get one in the UK for about GBP 220, and then get a VAT refund on top of that ... but still end up paying about $350.00.

If I come back to Westlake Village sometime this year, I'll let you know ... maybe I can pick it up while I'm there. At the moment, I don't have any plans to visit this year, but if my father's health continues to decline, I may have to change my plans on short notice :(
