Ok folks I have two dealers (soon to be three) competing for my business.

What is a good or rather fair percentage to give a dealership above their invoice price? 3%, 4% 5% ?

RIght now we are lookign at $5650 without taxes and licensing... which i think is around 5% above dealer invoice (minus any hold back)

I picked up my 2003 brand new at the dealer the middle of Nov. last year for exactly $5000, if you can hold out there are better prices to be found towards the end of the year. BTW love the bike.

I did the same thing as Ogre, but I got it in March, and didn't get as good of a price for it. Despite my best Hagglin skills practiced during trips to China town I got the dealer down to 6000 out the door. You'll have to teach me some of your ways master Ogre... :)

6 out the door is a good price.. that puts the dealer % at around 4 or so.. that is what I am trying to get mine for.. out the door.. of course it depends on what your sales tax is as well... : )

I bought it out of town but I think the sales tax was either 7.25 or 7.50, I hated both dealers I went to see because they didn't treat me well because I was younger than most other customers. When my friends get motorcycles, I'll have him pit the two dealers against each other, and take the price to a third and buy it there.

Mine was the $5K plus 7% on sales tax here in FL, buying late in the year is the way to go. Plus here in my home town we have the Honda/Suzuki shop and the Yamaha shop next door to eachother, and a Harley shop less than a mile away. I just told the sales guys I'm buying a bike today (have your financing set if you can) it is either from you or the guy next door. You should have seen them scramble.
