Hi, I'm completely new to bike maintenance so please forgive my lack of knowledge.
My Brother has recently given me his GP100, and since I've been having trouble starting it, me and my friend decided to take the engine off to check it over. We discovered that the push rod was bent, but neither of us were sure whether this was supposed to be or not... I wouldn't have thought it was meant to be.
But if anyone has any help they can give I'd be very grateful, especially if they know somewhere I can get one!

It should not be bent.

If it is on EBAY, it is probably also sold on a hundred other websites, so Google should turn it up no problem.

Hi Bob, thanks very much for your response, but I was actually referring to the clutch push rod rather than the Con Rod. It seems like a tricky part to find...
Having said that it does appear to just be a steel rod, so if I could find a steel rod of the same width and cut it to length i could use that, it's only that I'm unsure whether or not it should be bend.
Also while I'm writing, does anyone have any information on reboring the Piston? and how much it's likely to cost.

Sorry, miss-read the subject line. If you can not find one, it is certainly worth a shot to make one. The diameter must be exact though, and if the length is off at all the clutch will not work right. The rod should be hardened steel, like a high carbon tool steel, not a mild steel or a machine steel. A machine shop should be able to duplicate yours easily and for a fair price.

A bore job on the cylinder is not expensive. Get the kit with the slightly oversized piston and rings, and bring them to the machine shop so they know exactly what size to bore the cylinder out to. A straight bore and hone will usually run you about $50-60 for one cylinder if you bring it to the shop.
