Found a 35mile route w/some extra nice curves (& beautiful country might I add). No pics at this time of the countryside because the curves had me in awe. Actually scraped the toe of my boot in one turn (by accident). Gonna run it a few more times over the next few weeks to get extremely familiar w/the route before running it w/my group  . Gonna see if I'll be able to hang w/the big boys  .

Kinda "proud" of the lean angle I was able to achieve in a few of those turns. I was extremely overwhelmed in the end at how I was able to lean more & more the further I went in the route. I have a fairly new back tire & was able to see the wear of my new lean angles. Found out that I'm more confident leaning left vs right (don't know why). On the back tire I've got 1/2 inch left on the left side before reaching the outer edge of the tire & about 1 3/4 inches on the right side. Wasn't very far over but it was definitely a major accomplishment for "ME."

After the challenging ride!

Can sorta see the back tire in this pic.

Sounds like a nice ride. But don't be concerned with keeping up with the rest. Ride your own ride!

Could be many things ... is the suspension setup for your weight? Is the tire over-inflated or under-inflated? Is the tire new? Or does it need to be replaced (has it been ridden hard by the previous owner)? Are you rolling on too much throttle in the turn? Are you moving your weight too far forward?

It could be any one of these, or a combination ... have you had someone watch you (or better yet, film you) through some turns, so that you can get some feedback from another angle, or see yourself to determine if it's the bike or just you?

No, DON'T DO THAT. Too many people push themselves unnecessarily when there is a video camera present. They wind up crashing. Have someone follow you and get their feedback if you must.

Better yet, do some research and get your suspension sorted FIRST. THEN, get new DECENT sport tires. Try it again. A new GSX-R will spin up the rear wheel on corner exits without too much provocation if you are on the gas HARD. I'm talking race track here. So, if you are pushing your bike at track speeds on the street, maybe you should back off a notch or three.

Okay 'Nut, you're right. I was thinking about myself - I don't try to impress the camera, I try to learn from it (in other words, I try to do it right so that the instructor doesn't have anything to criticize). If you are one of those people who get all crazy when there's a camera pointed at you (you see lots of examples during spring break), then just get feedback from someone you trust and who knows what they are talking about.

I had an issue with wheel spin in and out of turns when I had my suspension at factory settings. I relaxed the compression in the rear and and found a comfortable setting. Lots of time, lots of trial and error. No track time, yet. I'm still too intimidated.

As for tweaking the suspension, I followed advice from my friends that race anywhere from 125cc's to 1200cc's, as well as my owner's manual.

I'm still tweaking to find a perfect setting for me. Suspension seems to change the more I ride.

Can the experienced racers here tell me whether he should have dragged a boot at those modest angles? My Bandit has less clearance that a Gixxer and I'm to the edge of the tires. I've never touched a toe. I'd say he needs to take note of his foot position before he gets seriously hurt.

Modest for most but major for me that day! A simple adjustment of the feet...no problem...place ball of foot on peg...next time, wait to hear peg scrape  .

The most likely fault is to lean the bike too much. Move your body alot more to the side you're turning, and you will soon realize that you don't have to lean the bike so much.
Get some kneesliders if you ain't got any  Anyways, you don't have to lean like this on the public road. Let the bodyweight do the job, and when you have enough confidence you can take the bike with you even further
