I place my docs in a small plastic tackle box, like 2 1/2 X 3 aprox. then store it in the tail of the bike with other stuff that goes on every ride.

My wallet. I don't ever leave home without out it, so there shouldn't be an instance I don't have it with me.

+++1 seems to take a little time to dig out the papers in a tool box ....I first have to unlock , then take the rubber straps off then dig out the papers ..cops seem to get a little pissed if you take a lot of time.. although was stopped in a DUI check point and cop said " o' hell go on"...now carry in wallet.....

Have my registration and insurance card laminated back to back which makes a 3 X 5 card. Carry it in my tank bib pocket on the Intruder or tool kit/owners manual pocket on the VTX1300C (brand 'X'). Use some imagination and you'll discover a spot, best to keep it weatherproof just in case your imagination wasn't working so well that day.

I have one of those square plastic sleeves that the insurance agent gave me. As a precaution I laminated the items in it and now just use the sleeve to house everything. I keep this paperwork in the compartment on top of the tank(air box) where the fuel filler cap is. The 1500LC has a hidden fuel filler compartment.

Wallet. Along with my insurance papers and driver's license.

If someone steals your bike they get free registration if you leave it in your bike no?
That is a good point,,never thought about that,, maybe a wallet sized card wouldn't be such a bad idea,,, will have to make that up.

Plastic bag in the toolkit area.

If they've stolen the bike . . . an extra piece of paper's not gonna' make much difference. It's not like they can take the registration and prove ownership. All they can prove is that themeatmanlandry paid for his tags before they stole his ride.

Now, if you're storing the original copy of your title in there . . .

Mark, I agree however, let's say the bike gets stolen. You don't know yet. The thief gets stopped at a DUI police barrage. He has the papers, he can just say, my friend lent me the bike, he's free to run away. No?

I keep mine in a plastic bag in my tank bag - it's with me whenever I'm riding, and I always take the tankbag with me when I park the bike.

I don't keep it under the seat since, as Louis said, the bike can get stolen, and if the papers go with it, that's bad.

And I don't keep them in my wallet, since that too can get stolen (since I always carry it, not just when riding).

What if you write on the registration that this bike does not get loaned out if not registered rider bike is stolen.
I almost have a cow when someone touches it. No way I would ever loan it to anyone.

Great idea Viper94bite. We have a program in FL where owners can put a sticker on their vehicle that states the vehicle is not normally operated during the hours from 11PM to 5AM and during these hours the officer is authorized to stop and verify without probable cause. Bikes are stolen pretty much around the clock, but anything we can do is going to help.
