I am ready to paint my 600. I would like to ask any of you that have either bought a gixxer used or painted a new one "custom" to share a picture of your bike with me. I am thinking of maybe just going w/ one color and no decals. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks all

My 600 is currently being painted ( I pick it up Tuesday ) Black Cherry Pearl. If you want a sample of the color, go to www.scion.com goto the coupe and check out the colors. I'm going solid for now, but was thinking about adding ghost flames. But anywho, the frame is going to be painted flat black also in a few weeks. As soon as I get it completely done, pictures will be posted :)

Well I'm getting my painted for price of paint. The guy is a good friend of my dad's and I help him around his shop by sanding things down, or putting things on after they've been painting and stuff. Most auto paints run around 90$ a quart if I'm not mistaken ( I am not completely sure, just guestimating ) and specialty paints I've heard of being upwards of $200. Most bikes shouldn't need more than a quart fyi. OK anyways. average costs should be between 500-1000$ for basic painting. A way to lower that at most places is bring the pieces in, not the bike and sand them down yourself. Custom jobs depend on the painter, but some newtothegame painters will welcome the chance to do custom work. i've heard of local autobody noobs charging next to nothing for the chance to be creative. Maybe hint around if they have left-over paint from another project to feel free and get creative. Might help. Of course some shops won't do 'custom' work. anyhow that's all the info i can give after no sleep in 24 hours :)
