I know someone will say it eventually so I'll just say it. A 750 is enought to kill you if you don't know what you're doin.

Now that that's outta the way; you know the SIZE dimensionally between a 600 and a 750 of both bikes is exactly the same. If you are going as small as a 250 or 500, yes those are smaller in size. The 600's and up are virtually the same size. I'm 5'8" and weigh 180 lbs. I can ride a GSXR 600 today and a GSXR 750 tomorrow and they are both the SAME SIZE. For you bigger guys you are s*** outta luck bikes dont get dimensionally bigger with cc size.

On the other hand if you mean accomodate your WEIGHT more cc's will do the trick. Thats the only thing that worries me. A Katana 750 is probably OK with your lack of experience (no offense but it's important). A GSXR 750 is a lot of bike no matter how much you weigh. I've been riding for 3 years and I can still say my GSXR 600 is f***ing fast. Just choose with knowledge and not balls.

I weigh over 200 lb and my Gixer 600 is big enough and powerful enough to keep up with lighter guys on bigger capacity bikes.

It isn't like it will get bogged down because you are a heavy bloke.
Go with the 600 if you have to have a Gixer.

I would go fot he Katana - probably 'cause i got one, if you've never owned a sport bike i think this is your better option. Not a super sport bike but handles and has all the power to go with it. Just FYI i'm 6'2'' 240 lbs. and love my bike

Oh I agree completely. But at the same time you could buy anything to add a few HP to a bike but if you yourself lost 15 lbs it would have the same effect (not saying anyone is fat, just a rule in general).

6'3 200+ pounds, been on the 600 as my first bike, and its fast enough. trust me ur not the first one to make a mistake about the diferrent cc, and diemension thing, i did that too untill the dearlship guy told me that there was no difference in diemensions only motor size, or else i wouldve bought a 1000cc bike off the bat. thinking it was bigger. hahahaha

just take the time to research the actual dimensions of bikes you are interested in. Go to the website for Suzuki, then go to motorcylces, then sportbike and so on...then click on specifications and it lists seat ht, wheel base, etc....

The Katana is a comfortable bike. I had a 750 and really enjoyed it. It should fit your height just fine, and I can't see why it would have any trouble hauling around a larger guy. Just don't buy it new cause they depreciate like hell and you _might_ want to upgrade to a lighter and quicker bike in a couple years. Better not to have to eat so much depreciation.
