I have a 03 SV 650 and love it, as long as it is not raining. One of my best friends also has a SV 650 his is a 2001 and he loves his too.
You see when it rains the water from the road and front tire gets into the spark plug wiring in the front cylinder and causes that plug not to fire. Now I havn't had any problems with it in short trips in the rain, but an extended period of about 60 miles and guess what your riding on one cylinder.
Just something to consider living in Florida when it rains everyday at 4pm
