Folks, I'm drenched. I work in a government building and it's 70F (a warm day in this building, believe it or not). I am drenched and cold.

The good news is that the severe weather came through about 3 am, instead of 7 am, like they were forecasting, so I only had to ride in the rain, not the thunderstorm.

On the plus side, I installed a little bell from a cheesy beer mug (that said, "Ring for the next round" (niece and nephew think I'm a drunk or something)) on the handlebars. It's really cool. I rang it to say 'good morning' to my neighbor on my way to work.

Kids like it too!

Anyway, back to the weather. I am not looking forward to riding home. Especially if I'm still wet at 4:00, which I'm pretty sure I will be. I am, however, getting used to riding everywhere. Like I said before, it's kinda neat "toughing it out."

bleh....i plan on riding to work only on nice days. got the RX8 for the rainy days. i know a lot of people only have bikes, but i dont think i could do that. need my car for weather and times i need the space (items or passengers).

hope you get a nice dry ride home (even though it is easier to take knowing you can go home and change)

You should be able to find a cheap rainsuit ($5.00) for those times, and they take up very little space.

It really makes a difference, Me and my wife did over 200 miles in 1 day last summer, on our trip around the state. Temps ranged from 70 degrees, down to 50 degrees. Its hard to stay warm if your wet.

If it only lasts 10 or so times, that's about a years worth.

yeah the weather pattern is going to change big time this weekend. I think were on the edge of global distruction very soon. Hurricans in Florida, Tsunamis in the South East Asia, Mud Slides in California and it's 60 degrees in NYC today. The world is coming to and end and it's sooner then you'd think..............

Those cheep plastic rainsuits are better than nothing, but give a try to a set of FroggToggs. The top and bottoms together weight only 11oz, and they roll up into a very small bundle. They breath well, so they are very comfortable, and the velcro and elastic keeps the rain from getting up your sleaves and pants like with the plastic suits. The cool thing is that air flows through them but water doesn't, so if you are wet and put them on you dry off as you ride! Very cool...about $65.

Riding in the rain in S.A. is a common thing throughout January. Its raining at the moment. I wear a fishing rainsuit, which works perfectly! :)

Rain? We had our share for now. It's 70 degrees, sunny, clear, and calm. Time to go for a ride and see what roads are still passable after our nightmare storms. I know at least half of my favorite canyons have been completely washed out. They say repairs may take up to a year to complete! :eek:crap:
