I have a 1994 RM125. I got it cheap and have ridden it around a little bit. It is in good condition except for the clutch. The clutch doesn't quite disengage the tranny and so when I shift into first it is grabbing. Anyway, I am not into offroad as much as onroad so I thought I would sell it. I have no clue on the value but got an offer the other day for $500. Is this fair given the clutch is not real good. It will drive around rather well but of course it will stall when stopped if I don't keep it reving. Anyway, if this isn't a fair deal then I want to keep it and fix the clutch. If I did that I am wondering how hard this is and how much it might cost. By the way, I was selling it for $700 but was told it may cost $200 to fix the clutch issue. Please leave a comment if you have any ideas or opinions.
Thanks
Brian

could be the basket has grooves (mine did) .. file it a bit.

-- free to file -- $200 if you replace the basket

could be the cable is so old it's stretched (mine was)

-- $20

also could be it needs new oil.

$700 sounds really cheap.

Try running a thinner oil in the trans. Also, as per zookerman125 suggestions. Sounds like the cable is stretched. Try moving the lever on the engine around by 1 spline to take up a bit of the stretch.

cheap?

So you think $700 is too cheap? What are these bikes worth when they are in good shape. I got the clutch to work fine now. The only thing a little worn is the seat. Everything else seems to be tip top.
Just curious as to what I have here. I was thinking on trading it in on a street bike. So I have no clue what a dealer would offer or what a good selling price is.
Since it is starting right up everytime now I am starting to think I may keep it to play with. Just don't know where to ride at here in Orlando. Anyway, thanks for the advise it seems to have worked.
