I just got my bike back from the initial service of 600 miles and I noticed that the gas tank can be moved from side to side just slightly. Is that normal or is it something that needs to be tightened down further? I have no idea about whether it did it before. I put my hands on the tank and can move it a little but it is pretty tight on there. Any help would be great.

Remove your seat and see if there's some bolts under there you can tighten. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!!!

If you paid for the work and have the time, take it back and make them fix it, since they screwed it up. If not, remove seat, tighten bolts.

They had it for about 4-5 hours

if you can move the tank EASILY, then one of the rubber covers covering the tank mounts is on the floor of the shop.

i know this from experience.

Actually mine does the same thing. Not a lot, but it can be moved slightly. I asked my brother in law( he has 3 harleys of various types) and thier tanks also move slightly. I guess that is just normal.
