The only way to really tell if the bike is good or not is to ask them for a copy of the title, registration, and an etched copy of the vin off the bikes frame. If all the bikes are coming out of Florida, you can get on the Florida DMV and take the info from the bike and it will tell you where the title is registered at and what type of vehicle it is.

In the UK we have a thing called a HPI check.ITs for cars and bikes, for a small charge you give them the registration number and vehicle type and they can tell you if it has been involved in any reported accidents,if anyone has any outstanding finance on it,basic history or if the reg doesnt match the description.
Is there a similar thing over the pond?

As I posted on another thread..... Igg the CycleTrader part and apply this to all classifieds, really...

Not to discourage anyone, but be VERY careful with CycleTrader. There are scams all up and through their adds. Be sure to consider only the ones you can go have a look at. Ignore all adds with the following criteria:

1. The seller is overseas
2. The bike is in one place and the seller is in another
3. You can't see the bike in person before purchasing
4. The phone number is bogus and you have to use their email only
5. The seller claims the shipping cost is included in the price.

If you choose not to ignore, them, then please keep your eyes open for any warning signs. I know this seems like a lot, but I run into my share of scammers, and the MAJORITY of them have come from CycleTrader. The above, of course, also apply to any other classifieds/online sellers. And trust me, there are some on ebay as well.
