Should the garters (boots) that protect the front forks be air tight at each end or should they have a hole in them to allow them to 'breath'?

Drider,
I haven't taken my fork covers as of yet but from memory I'd say the boots need to be snug around the fork and I would say if there is a hole in the rubber boot off to the side it's supposed to be there. I recommend finding a Clymers manual, I bought one from yahoo.com for $19.00US and have found it to be vital to any repairs.

Irwin - Nice bike. Looks brand new. But tell me, what is that small wheel that I can see just behind the front bike wheel?

Little wheel

That's my son's electric dune buggy, pretty cool little toy, 12v battery with dual rear motors and even electrically controlled limited slip. I would love to get him a small dirt bike but I need to teach him how to ride his bike w/o training wheels first--that will come soon with the weather warming up.
Thanks for the compliment on the bike, it's a 1990 with about 1800 miles on it. Yesterday was so nice I had to take the afternoon off and go riding, got in about 3 hours before the weather changed.
