i heard a salesman say something about a sealed chain is the way to go. can anyone shed some light on these for me? i have no clue what the hell i'm talkin' about here .
A "sealed" chain had o-rings that seal in the lubrication along the rollers, retarding its loss under normal operations. Because of this, they don't need to be cleaned or lubed as often (usually only about half as often) and they last longer.
