Son ran out of gas on his Suzuki LT50 (1985) and now we cannot get it started. Or the engine died, hard to tell since I was not home and others put gas in it.

1. It has spark to the plug.
2. The spark supressor was removed from the exhaust.
3. It is getting gas...even tried putting a few drops in the head to see if it would turn.
4. Checking the compression tonight. any idea what it should be?
Totally stumped!

Any help for my little buddy would be great.

2 strokes are very basic.

Spark
Fuel
Compression

If any one of those is not happening then you have the answer as to why it wont run.

Sounds like the bike needs a top end rebuild to me if it is getting a good spark and good fule then..........only one thing left.

Good luck and lket me know how you make out with it.

NO LUCK.. I checked everything....spark...fuel...compression...drained fuel...pulled carb float.....exhaust clear....NAADA

Could something happened internally..timing.magneto not firing at top of stroke?/./////?

Any chance its not getting enough SPARK? bad coil or magneto

Will call on a local repair place to take a look....

The rings were it....after having a number of folks look at it I took it to the suzuki dealer where they could start it pulling it at 45mph. After pulling the cylinder they found the bottom ring shot and scored the cylinder...i.e cannot pull start but the compression shows fine....if I would have done a compression LEAK test I would have found it.... WOW what a pain....THANK YOU ALL
