I have re-jetted my DR200 and while it gives more power, the spark plug is now black and sooty. If I put the original jets back in, the plug is a tan-brown colour, but with less power. Is this the compromise that you get when re-jetting? Or is it possible to put more fuel into the engine and still not have the plug foul up?

try something slightly smaller, if it is going black, that's not a good thing, you'll make more power yet if you get it a bit leaner. So long as you took it for a ride, and not just idling in the driveway.
