I have a new intruder with 1200 miles. I put on the choke, crank it, then it starts sputting and poping and will die, it will clear up if you gas it.
Could I have a vacum leak? I don't want to hurt a valve.
Thanks for help...bob

PS, THE IDLE SCREW WAS TOO LOW. THAT WAS THE FIX.
the choke was also sticking, not all the way choked. not covered by factory.

I don't like your attitude CHAD, If thats your opinion of dealers you should get a new one. We make our living from our customers and that is driven by our reputation, so if your dealer won't help, **** can them and get a new one.You get a much better response when you ask them to repair it as opposed to "making them" repair it.

Ask your dealer to check the carb synch, it should have been done at 600 miles by the periodic maintanance chart, but sometimes they forget to. But if you have serviced the unit yourself, it will need a carb synch, it is not easy, but many dealers are capable. It takes a synch gauge and alot of patience. Do the idle synch, then sych at 2500 RPM this will give you good resolution between the two settings.

give your head a shake, that's what I'm talking about, it is their job to fix it, what I mean by make them fix it is to not take, oh, that's normal, when you have a problem. I am a mechanic, I take pride in my work, if one of my customers has a problem, I will do what it takes to fix it.
