Ok now that i got my exhaust, well still waiting for shipping, i wanna change my rear and front sprockets for more acceleration at cost of top end.

I've heard 1 tooth up in rear 1 tooth down in front is good.Im not worried about top end as i hardly ever use. Besides im not gonna do 150mph anywhere. I've only done 120mph a few times on empty highway. Can anyone suggest a good brand to buy. Also i want to get a great chain to replace my stock one. Thanks

I don't know much about the gearing, but ... if you can afford it, go for the X-Ring chain. They are more expensive than O-Rings, but should last longer.

Call Phil @ www.moto-heaven.com he has lots of info and suggestions for your bike.

Me.......I would go down one tooth in the front (down to 14) and up 3 in the rear (49-50). I'm not sure exactly what is stock for your bike. Those are just my guesses.

You shouldn't lose more than 10 mph with that set-up and still have a faster bike.

Just remember, when you change your gearing, you will change how your speedo reads and also how quickly your odometer counts miles!!!

By raising the gearing like this, you raise the rpms that your bike rides at.

EXAMPLE: If you normally turn 6,000 rpms @ 75 mph in 6th gear. Gearing up like this will cause you to turn 7,250 rpms @ 75 mph in 6th gear.

Also, you bike will wheelie with the greatest of ease!!!! You oughta be able to pull off 3rd and 4th gear wheelies!!!!

Get your sprockets from Phil. He'll ship them a lot faster. Should get them in under a week.

Yes, you can keep your stock chain. Your chain should be in good condition (it is a 2004 right?)

So drop a tooth in tha front and go up 3 in tha rear.

Thank me later....:p

How many miles on the chain? ALWAYS change the chain and sprockets at the same time, unless the chain is basically new (or you are racing). You will cause premature wear on the sprockets and have to change them again when you do get a new chain.
