Just picked up a 2001 Savage 650 with 3000km on it. Love the look of the bike but it not accelerating smoothly at all. If the choke is on it is much better but once she warms up and I shut down the choke she will sputter. I am not talking about a huge .... chug .......chug but it is not smooth. Throtle responce is delayed as well.

Also my exaust pipe is colouring at a much faster rate than I anticipated. Am I running it too rich/Lean? Is this type of adjustment easy to make or should I be heading to a suzuki dealership for some service.

Thanks
Mike

If you don't have a service manual, you should take it to a bike mechanic.

Your engine is adjusted on the lean side to protect the environment.
Look down in the forum for the removal of the "white spacer"in your carburetor. this will richen the mixture.
