Can anyone advise?

hi i have a 92 gsxr600 my case near the shifter got cracked and i was going to strip it down and replace it then i saw a 2002 gsxr600 car kit on ebay so i thought 1'd just put that in. i had the same kind of problem (i have a post on here with a pic further down). anyways was going to take it to a machine shop but the local high school has a vocational welding/fabrication program so i'm letting the kids move my motor mounts on the frame and fabbing some brackets for the side mounts. i had to totally strip it down (no swingarm or forks)., but i took them my tank, frame, motor, and my pipe wrote down where i wanted the engine in the frame and best of all i pay materials only and might not have to pay at all if they already have whats needed. :D

Dear Burnagoodone,

That scenerio of letting the highschool shop class remount a motor into your bike sounds scary as a Hydrogen Balloon. Not knowing the stress points on the frame, etc. I wish you luck and if you ever ride it, please be careful. It just sounds like something you might hear about in the Darwin Awards.

just so you know the kids are supervised by a journeyman welder. also i've seen examples of the work they do and they are good. i'm not very worried about stress points on the frame sheesh its going to be mounted the same as the old engine. i had a 4 cylinder toyota 4x4 that i put a chevy 327 v8 in and had no problems with anything and thats a way bigger difference than swapping a 600cc motor for a 600cc motor also the new motor is about 40 to 70 lbs lighter. i guess all these guys with 750 motors in 600 frames and 1100 motors in 750 frames had a engineer make sure the stress points would handle it. i'll post when i've ridden it including pics of the mounts.

Gee can they mount a motor for me?

I was concidering mounting a Catapillar Desil on my 450 Nighthawk frame. I am sure they can handle it.
Just think of the power.
I know it will work
