Tuesday night on my way home.... Heading up I-5 a few miles north of seattle. It's about dusk. In the HOV lane 2 sport bikes bikes come roaring up. The guys are sitting on the front of the gas tanks, right behind the handlebars, with their legs spread out towards the front, hands in the air....... not sure how they were doing this, guess they were wedged against the handlebars.. Looked stupid! Guess they figured it looked hot......

Well, it refers to a rider who "goes off in all directions like a squid's tentacles". Basically, a squid is the guy who's weaving in and out of traffic.

No, that ain't what it means, at least to me. Just stating where I heard it came from. Everyone has a different meaning, but basically it's someone that takes excessive risks on the street. What is excessive risk is obviously defined differently by different people.

yeah i understand the taking risks bit but not the squilry kid bit.

just for the record, isnt life about taking risks, life would be boring if u all just plod along just doing everything to pass the time, doing an 8till5 job, coming home sitting in front of the tv and moaning to the wife bout how crap you day was

Ride or Die - You go on about life is about taking risks and this forum is always flaming people who just want to have fun.

Well for the most part the only thing that members of this forum flame about is not wearing gear and putting others in danger. So if someone wants to take risks and get the adrenaline pumping, do it so that you are not endangering the innocent and wear gear because not wearing gear is not taking a risk, it just stupid.

i fully agree and always wear a helmet, cos is the law and also my armoured spyke jacket, matching cordura (prob spelt wrong) trousers with armoured knees, boots and gloves, no matter where im riding, i just feel as thought the second speed is mentioned here poeple frown thats all

No, we don't flame people who take risks - we are MC riders after all. We flame people who make direct or indirect trouble to us. People who stunt on public roads in traffic, or people who don't wear gear. This all comes back to us in various negative ways - bad public image, and higher insurance rates. (sport riders get pulled over on a regular basis, because many cops assume now that we are crazy squids).

So go do your risky stuff, but don't involve others who never asked to be part of it.
