I am thinking of buying my very first bike here, and am looking at a sport bike. Now, I don't want anything really fast here, like a GSX-R600 or R6. I was looking at the GS500F, but I have a question about it. What's are the specs on it, like hp, torque, redline, ect?

The GS500F is a great choice. It has a nice 47HP @ 8750 and 27.2 ft-lbs @ 7750 RPM. As for the red line, it's at 11,000 RPMs as this pic indicates:

I strongly recommend that you take the MSF as well if you haven't yet. By the, welcome to the site.

Excellent choice! And take Louis' advice and take the MSF course. In a year, take MSF's Advanced Riders Course.
