Hey wondering what everyone's going to be wearing once things really heat up. Right now I have my dainese leather which is great in cooler weather and saved me from road rash once but was thinking more along textile for summer. So curious to see what everyone's going to be using. Looking at the joe rocket phoenix mesh jacket or teknic supervent...both claim to be cooler in hot weather.

Wearing a First Gear Mesh Tex II Jacket, zip out liner on the few warm days we've had here it works great and only 120.00. voted best value in many magazines. you can pick the color also. Still sticking with the full face helmet.

I'm looking for one of those mesh jackets around here. I can't wear my other one in the hot weather even with all the vents open it's like a sauna.
So Jacket, jeans, boots, and of course my trusty full face helmet. Oh yeah and gloves.

I have the Phoenix....Love it. Zip out liner keeps you decently warm in cooler weather too.

Anyways yeah I'm sticking with a full face too...if it's ever too hot to wear a full face, I use my truck :wink:

Apparently the joe rocket got good reviews about crash durability (at sane speeds) but it sorta looks a bit wild for me...I like the teknic more as it looks like a regular jacket still. Have to check out that first-gear tex ii as well...

I bought a mesh jacket from PowerTrip a couple of weeks ago. It is the San Jose model. I like it, but since its black, it is still kinda' hot. It has a zip-out vest type liner.

I have a 3/4 helmet, I will probably stick with because I wear glasses and the flip-down face shield is nice.

I used to wear gloves every time too, but I have been slacking off on that lately.

JR Phoenix textile/mesh jacket, phoenix gloves.. both are very nice, and offer good protection. the Jacket has double armour in the shoulders and elbows and a decent spine protection as well.

Hein Gericke mesh jacket and the rest of my usual - full face with sunglasses (ok maybe the visor does go up) and Draggin Jeans. This jacket is cool and includes the full armor group. If all else fails, just keep moving.

I was wondering about how well the strap on armour would work under jeans and t-shirts,,, since the textile/mesh goes away pretty quick,, If I wear some strap on armour,,,wouldn't that be the same? But then again it may be too hot after a while.

I wonder if they make a lighter color,, like light gray mesh or a tan color? With armour in place?

I just took a pair of scissors and ripped the stitches on them goofy patches they put on the Joe Rocket Phoenix. After a day or two the material underneath the patches expanded (?) I guess, and you can't even tell there was patches and emblems there. Jacket is plain black.

I bought the same jacket in black/silver [ladies style, of course] and the mesh gloves. I've only had to use the liner once, early morning cold ride to work, but zipped it out when I left for lunch. I also wear glasses, when my contacts aren't bothering me, which is why I got one of those flip-up helmets.

Since I live on a Military base, I'm required to wear long sleeves, contrasting colors or a reflective vest [the silver stripe on the black jacket qualifies], gloves, helmet, over-the-ankle shoes, and long pants. The habit just sticks with me so I do all that even if I'm not riding on base.

I'm so depressed. It's 50 here and has been raining for 30 days straight. I am so SICK of rain.

Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain....

I have a lovely black and silver JR Phoenix jacket to wear and a full face helmet with good air vents. But of course, I can't even get my bike out from under the cover right now. I'm not talking occassional showers. I'm talking solid downpour...non stop.

Jason, I seem to remember getting something in the mail awhile back about it...is it for a children's charity maybe? What day is the 12th on? If it's a weekend I'm hosed, I work weekends....(well, I could take a vacation day... :mrgreen: )
