Hi all. I have a 1979 A100 and am getting conflicting advice as to what oil to use.

The bike is not a premix system, it has its own oil / petrol mix system. No carburetor.
Also, should I drain the oil from the engine, as well as from the oil container before changing it?

Also, is 91 petrol 2 stroke petrol.

Many thanks, Shane.

There is no such thing as "2 stroke petrol" but the less ethanol content the better.

You use 2 stroke oil in the pre-mix tank......non-detergent type.
IIRC, it is usually straight 20 weight, if the weight is even specified.

You use motorcycle oil in the crankcase, probably something like 10W40 but the exact weight isn't critical.

There actually IS a carb but it might not look anything like what you are used to seeing.

There is no need to "drain" the premix container.......unless the oil has been sitting in there for a LONG time.
