Hi all. I have purchased and received all the parts necessary to change the shaft, bushings and cushion for the swing arm on my Suzuki A100 (1979). I am just wondering if this is a basic task to undertake, and what are the obstacles, if any, that I may encounter? All advice is welcome and appreciated.

Many Thanks, Shane.

I swapped out the swing arm bushes on an old British bike I restored and it was straight forward. They should just press out using a drift from the opposite end. Yours may be different but I suspect not. If you are worried a good engineering shop should do it for a fairly cheap price....I would think.

Refitting is simply driving the new ones in using a socket of a slightly smaller size....making sure you drive them in straight. You could possibly use the swing arm shaft to ensure they remain correctly lined up.

Just to be sure maybe take picture of the bushes in situ and post them here.

good luck.

Thanks mate. I tried with a home-made drifter (I used correct diameters with sockets), but it would not budge. I will call a mechanic on Monday and arrange for removal and replacement of bushes. Thanks again.
