Our local dealer is having a demo day this Saturday. It starts at 9AM, I'll be there at 8:30. I can't wait. I have to go out of town at noonish , so I will try everything I can in those 3 hours. Looking forward to the SV, V Strom, M50, C50, S50, and I've always wanted to try a scooter on 'roids so I'll be checking out the Burgman too. Should be a blast. :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

But doesn't YOUR insurance only cover YOUR bike?

[EDIT: I may be mistaken, but I seem to remember that my car insurance covers the car, no matter who's driving, but would not cover me if I were driving pinhy's RX. (WTF has pinhy been anyway? [hollers] Piiiiiiinnhy!! Pinhy!!)

It doesn't even say you need insurance. What if you don't own a bike yet, which is probably who they're targetting.
For their sake, I hope you're mistaken about that.

The thought of a couple hundred "carbon copies of myself on day one" dropping bikes left and right gives me the chills. :mrgreen:

<endorsement, but no bike?>

Most of the bike dealers around hear do it at least once during the summer. They have a Harley one coming soon. As long as you have a helmet and a valid bike endorsement on your license you can take the bikes out. I am not sure about Suzuki, but the Harley Dealer has a 18 wheeler full of bikes that they bring from one dealer to the next dealer all across Canada for the demo day rides. Suzuki must do the same thing. They take out groups for about a 20 minute round trip ride with a leader and a follow up from the dealer. They just dont give you a bike and say have fun, they keep it safe in groups of about 20 - 30 bikes. When you get back you go to the back of the group and wait until it is your turn again. When the harley ride comes to town you are lucky if you get to take out two bikes. Last year there was about 400 people and only 20 bikes.

Most stealerships have a few bikes registered for test-rides. These bikes will be sold as used after a year or so. These bikes are considered to be "cost of doing business" and written off - just like a car dealer usually has a few cars available for test drives, not his whole inventory.
