I got a 15 year old Suzuki DS80, the crank seal has gone and it sucked the cage into the big end and siezed the motor. I cracked it open and got the the metal shards outta there. Put it back together and it started weee... But not 5 seconds later smoke starts pouring out the exhaust, I nuggeted my pants, I thought it was on fire. I pulled the exhaust off it to find it full of oil. Any ideas???

A metal shard probably ate up the rings and oil is getting sucked into the combustion chamber on the intake stroke, then getting pumped out with the exhaust. Pull the motor, tear it down, and check for broken rings and scoring of the metal on the cylinder wall.

Piston Rings are ok

I stiped it down to fix the sieze and while the barrel was off i check the piston rings they were fine. I spoke to a local grease monkey and he said that because the crank seal is gone the pressure in the engine sucking oil out the gear box into the barrel. To crack the case open and replace and seals, proffesionally done I would look at paying roughly AUS$500-$1000 to get it running well again. This bike is not worth my time and effort or my money, if i was to sell it I'd only get AUS$150-$200. I am getting rid of it and going on the hunt for another bike. Thanks for the help.
