I wouldnt think so. Synthetic oils usually perfrom a lot better than conventional and have a much better pour rating. I use synthetic in all of my engine applications.

Check out this site. It gives more than you need to know information regarding motor oil. It is a GS site, but still explains a lot.

Thanks for the replies. Confirmed what I was already thinking. BTW, I had a 1995 dodge with a V10 that I bought new and used synthetic in. I sold it at 176000 miles and had never had to do anything to the motor beyond oil changes. It still runs as new and uses no oil. It was/is used hard.
