motorcyclist mag did a grudge match with the 2 last year. Same rider, same days, multiple runs. The busa won every time. The busa still holds the top speed record as well, check the guiness book of records. This only applies to completely stock machines though. Once you start modding, the person with the most money is gonna get the best performance and therefore have the faster ride

Even though the Busa is a faster bike, would you want to have one? Ive read some articles stating the Kawasaki has a better fell to it and its easier to control. Now, these articles were personal, so you have to be the one to make the final decision on it.

yeah, the 12Rs frame and engine mounting makes it a much better bike for twistie. But Neither are good for twisties. The 12R lost those 1/4th mile runs, yes. But that's to be expected. If you read the original article, You'll see the 12R was to large for the rider, and the 12R's 1st gear is higher. So yes, the busa on average will beat a 12R in 1/4th mile tests. But 1/4th mile is all about acceleration. Now just about all the tests I've seen between the 12R and the Busa say their busa is a 99 busa, which is the unrestricted model. The 12R was restricted half way throu its first year. So alot of those tests where incorrect. The new limiters they have on each bike makes the busa go to 183, and the 12R to 185. I really hate the 12R motor thou. Which is basically a 1.33 scale ZX-9 motor, which is a bad idea if you ask me. In 2006 kawa will prolly release a new 12R, with a new fairing, new motor, and horfully better aerodyanmics :roll:

Actually they are both restricted to 186 but that is easily overcome with the TRE. Not all test are done with 99 model busas, most are now done with whatever model came out that year. Busa has a better low end range while the 12 does have a better mid range. However, thanks to simple aerodynamics, the busa will go just a lil' bit faster when both bikes in completely stock trim. I'm talking like 1 to 3 mph faster. Not much when your talking about these kinds of speed, but first is still first.ZX-10R Urza said:

That's almost true prekarious1. The Busa uses a thoery to limit it based on the gear and the RPM. The 12R uses the speedometer, so the 12R will be faster on average. Its my guess that the cancer lumb on the back of the busa gives it that extra edge. Beasuce a 12R unrestricted without its mirrors will do 193. Were as the busa will do 189 Without mirrors unrestrict. So, yes the Busa wil do the 1/4 mile faster, but just about every one here is sadly mistaken. Because of the governer useing the Tach on the busa, its top end is lower. So as of '04 the 12R is faster. I'm sure suzuki will come out with a new one this, or next year, Most companies will completely redesign a bike after 5-6 years of production.

how fast can the katanas go you say you got it to 110 right...the speedo goes to 150 i think, will it actually reach that?
