It's not to late! Anyone want to join me on one of my little weekend rides? Well, this one will be a little longer than usual. This Saturday I'm leaving LA at 4 AM to ride some highways and backroads out to Arizona, then head north for lunch at the Grand Canyon. After that it's on to Las Vegas the long way with an over night stay. Saturday should end about 8 PM with 1054 miles completed.

Sunday it's back in the saddle at 7 AM. Nice, I get to sleep in a little! Then off to Red Rock Canyon, Death Valley, Mojave National Preserve, Joshua Tree, 29 Palms and home wth another 520 miles. Should be parking the Gixxer at about 4PM Sunday.

Now doesn't that sound like a nice relaxing weekend? The weather is scheduled to be perfect too! A nice weekend putt to get the riding season off to a good start!

Anyone want come along for all or part of the ride?

I am SO jealous. There's nothing like that around here. Grrrr Gixerdale. Grrrr !!!
Don't be jealous! It's not like those places are right around the corner. Didn't you just by a new sportbike? Get some luggage for it and wham! Instant Super Sport Tourer! Then go find all those hidden treasures of back roads. The right bike and enough time, you'd be amazed what's out there.

Well, I pick up the new bike next weekend. I do have a little jaunt on the sporty around southern MI planned for this weekend. Just a day trip. No destination, just going. So I won't be quite as jealous.

You have loads of fun. Take some pics.

And be safe out there.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Too bad I'm not closer. We try to get in all day rides as much as we can.
Hell, just fly out and rent a bike!

Gixxer-Mike, normally Dunlop 208's but that's just what works for me out here. Wear sucks, but the rest is all good, except in the wet! Tried others but didn't like the handling and stiffness from harder compounds. Wish I had touring tires on occasion (like tomorrows ride) just because of the poor wear. Not all my rides are always in the twisties.

BTW, what how much do sportbikes usually rent for in your area?

Now that would be a nice vacation! Fly out, rent a bike, go to the races, then ride the canyons for a few days!
