OK, yesterday was my last day to ride before she goes to the garage for the winter.

After about an hour of taking my favorite roads and twisties I take a short cruise through a development I used to live in. On my way out I make a right turn and see a guy in his early 30's walking down the road wearing a hat, sunglasses and a thick black mustache. I see him watching me as a slowly turn right out of the development. I thought to myself, "Ill open it up for him." So I quickly wrap around the gas tank. Immediately he stops walking and watches me. I rip on the throttle, bringing the front wheel up about an inch in the acceleration. I gun it out to about 85mph, and all I could see was this guys ear to ear grin behind me in my mirror. I have never seen such a white smile from about a 1/4 mile away form a spectator. That completely made my day, and I hope this guy someday gets to have his own bike. (Im positive he wasn't laughing at me. I think I made his day too).

What was the purpose of riding a motorcycle again? oh opps wrong forum. Jaydog opening it up for a fan could cost you your life one day, just remember to ride responsible and not for quick thrills that dont mean a thing after a couple of hours. He probaly was saying "wow that guy really should take a MSF course and pay more attention to riding ranther then trying to impress random ppl who could give a freak.

wow, novaz23, you speak as though you have never sped on public streets.

i think that was fine what you did, as i am not a saint and exceed the speed limit on occasion (ok, maybe more than that). i am glad to hear you made 2 people happy with the twist of your wrist.

It's foolish to open a bike up like that but we've all done it (most of us anyway) and lets face it thats one of the reasons some of us bought our bikes.

I have barely opened my bike up...I am still in awe of the power it has compared to a cage. I think the fastest I have made it to was about 75, and hell I was grinning ear to ear about that.

There are very few people who have really taken their bikes to the limits - and almost no one (in their right mind) would do this on the street.

I'm sure that 'Nut or Janis has come close to the limits on a track, though. (I mean, that's what racing is all about now, isn't it?)

We have all had that moment of 'squiddyness' where we push a bit harder or rev a bit higher than normal, just to make ourselves happy or have someone else turn their head. Hey - we are a minority here - so lets enjoy it! There are probably thousands of people who would like to ride, but can't for one reason or another (money, spouse/partner/family, etc.) Why not give them a reason to dream, even for a few seconds ... ?

You were able to see his facial expression while doing all of this? Maybe he was just the Joker.

85 in a neighborhood?
Not a neighborhood. When you pull out of the neighborhood its a straight 55mph zone. I lived in this area for 12 years, I know the place.

Yes, very clearly. I told you how white this grin was; no way in hell I could have missed it.
