Can anyone provide a newbie with some sizing/spec details of the various throttle bodies that come as standard?

I'm told that GSXR1000 has a 52mm opening tapering to 42mm at the plate and that a 1998 GSXR750 uses 46mm straight through. I'm also told that on 2000 onwards the GSXR750 the bodies ran dual butterflies to provide better low-down torque.

Can anyone correct or add to this.

I'm ideally looking for a single butterfly per body of size 45-48mm, individual or dual.

Any details on sizing of bodies for year and model bikes greatly appreciated. :)

TBH it's nothing to do with the bike but I want to fit the bodies with suitable manifold (carb?) onto a 2l 4-cyl VW engine. I know what I need but without actually going out and physically measuring the bodies myself I'm reliant on breakers etc who I seem to keep getting wrong info from!

The 46mm Mikuni Hayabusa bodies look to be ideal (looking for 42-48mm at plate) but they're not exactly 10 a penny.

I believe the GSXR750/1000 bodies are the ones I should use: 52mm opening taper to 42mm at the plate. I understand from 2000 these were dual butterfly and at some point the bodies switch from individual to dual (2004?). The 1996-99 bodies are 48mm and taper down to 40mm (44mm across the wider part where the injector leads in). This is as much info as I have gleaned so far but I guess there is more to learn.

Any info, part nos etc you can share would be much appreciated.
