Went for a ride today with my boyfriend and his parents. His dad has an '04 Yamaha FJR1300. After our ride, he asked me if I wanted to try out the FJ. Of course, I did!!

That is a fun bike! I was nervous at first because of the size of the bike...1300 cc's is a lot compared to my 650!! But, the thing was soooo smooth, and handled great. I had no problems at all.

We just went for a quick ride...we were headed out on the highway...I opened it up a bit to see how the trottle felt compared to my bike. I looked down and I was doing 100mph!!! Crazy! It didn't feel that fast at all! I had to quickly slow it down after that! :D

Anyway, I'm glad I got the chance to try on a bigger bike...and successfully ride it. It makes me less intimidated for moving up to bigger bikes in the future!

Hehe. A guy I know bought one last year. I almost stuck my foot in my mouth when he said my Bandit was almost as fast. I figured I'd better go home and look it up before talking any trash. Good thing, too. It actually edges me out even with the extra weight. They are nice.

Some day I'll own one and a track bike.

Yeah, the thing flies!! You can't even tell it's heavier...and it corners really well also!!

Next summer you and I and my boyfriend (who also has a bandit) are going to have to get together for a ride...we're only about 1 1/2 hours apart!

[EDIT: I was "Schooled" by Rowdy]

"Flies". And yes, we should ride. But, alas, winter.

It's still Autumn! Until December!

Yesterday it was 21°C / 70°F here, blue skies and sunny! Perfect motorcycle weather ... today it's about 16°C / 61°F and raining. That's AUTUMN! Winter is when you need a shovel to open the garage door.

Now, that said ... @SG - the FJR1300 has a much more "comfortable" riding position than your SV650S, right? Your Suzuki is designed for sport, whereas the FJR1300 is a touring machine. Touring bikes tend to have alot more torque but less acceleration ... My GSX 1400 is a touring machine, so it's not really super fast, but it's a blast to ride nonetheless.

If you really want to experience a big-power bike, take a test ride on a Hayabusa, GSX-R 1000 or a Yamaha R1. That should really put a smile on your face!
