Looking into getting a different seat for my marauder. Anyone used a Saddleman seat before. Also what about the suzuki gel seats for the marauder are they any good for long rides. I'm having a hard time with the $400 buck for a corbin or mustang.
thanx

which one do you have. I like the single piece one but I don't think it would look good with the sissy bar and luggage rack on the back. Don't want to take them off since the wifey is more comfortable with it on there.

My brother & my daughter both bought Mustang seats & swear by them. I've ridden my brother's Road Star & the Mustang seat is comfortable. They both got the model (sorry, I don't know the model names) with the larger passenger seats.
I chose a Corbin for my 1400 because I wanted to keep the seat height as low as possible. I was a little leary of them because even their own website said they're hard at first & take a while to break in. But I find it more comfortable than the stock seat. I paid less than $300 for it from an on line store. But I got the 1 up (Gunfighter) and it was a sale. The 2 up may be a little more. But then you may have more choices with the Marauder. Not easy to find anything for the 1400's.
Next up is handlebars - wish me luck!

Good idea. Yours shouldn't be hard to change if you need to. They ran the cables through the bars on the older Intruders, and as I need a longer pullback, I'll probably have to buy new cables...has anyone out there done this?

well I went out yesterday for about a 60 mile ride on my marauder to see what the seat felt like(stock). That is the longest I have gone on the marauder so far at one time. My back did not like that at all. I ordered a suzuki gel seat for like 200 bucks after shipping. They had them on sale so now I can't wait to get it so I can see what it feels like.
Does not seem right that I can be more comfortable riding a 250 ninja for 100 miles and not be sore but if I ride the marauder for 60 I am seems arse backwards to me.

I have looked into the Mustang Seat two-up seat wide with the studs for my 1500LC and the prices vary from the manufacturer asking price of $659.00 where some dealers are asking that as well. I went down along list of dealers and found one on-line store to have that exact same seat for $584.95. That's $74.05 difference from the manufacturer direct. The store I found the best price so far is called "Metric Thunder" and it is on-line,, I don't have the website handy but the phone number is 1-866-744-7900.
They may have the same seat you are looking for and it may be cheaper than what you have found so far. It's worth a shot. I really like the Mustang seat with the removable backrest. I have heard WAY too many good things about it.

Corbin is very comfortable

I put a Corbin seat on my Honda VTX, and I can not believe what a difference it has made. Riding is so much more enjoyable when you don't have to think about your "bottom". :bluethum:

I know that Corbin charges top dollar for their products, but after riding on one, I would have paid double had I known how comfortable it was going to be (hope they don't read this post).

One word of caution with the gel seats - a buddy of mine has gel on his Triumph. He states that it is comfortable, but that it gets extremely hot when sitting out in the sun and it takes a very long time to cool down. This may not be an issue for you in Omaha, but it would be a show stopper for me since I live in Florida.

With the gel seats,, and I know it is not the most attractive thing,, but throw a heavy towel over it,,preferably a light colored one. I have found that always keeps my set cool and if there is water available,, dampen the towel to where it stays in place and makes it even cooler when hopping on it.

I have a Mustang Seat,, the backrest is GREAT!!!!! The bottom is stiff,,, I had back aches with the factory seat, but my bottom was comfortable,,, now with the Mustang seat,, I have few back aches but my but goes numb. I have ordered a "Buttbuffer" pad in order to try to get this right.
