They've had systems like this on bikes running the Paris-Dakar rally. It helps a lot if you ride in the desert, or other low traction terrain. :wink:

World's first two-wheel drive motorcycle? Hardly. The patent was applied for in 1958, and Rokon two-wheel drive bikes have been in production since 1966.

Like 4-wheel steering on cages, I doubt it'll ever catch on. What possible use would it be on a street bike?

Last year Yamaha were talking of introducing it to their R1 and R6.
Test rides by factory riders gave positive feedback.

We have a russian motorcycle dealer in our area that sells russian 2 wheel drive motorcycles. They advertise them as year round motorcycles. You have to bundle up in winter.
