So about a week ago the strangest thing happened. I was riding around like normal when I pulled up to a light and got stuck in 2nd gear. No matter what I did, I couldnt shift to third or to neutral. I subsequently turned off my bike, much to the dismay of the people behind me at the now green light, and shifted to neutral and went about my ride. This happened twice more after that until last nights ride when something else came up. I was riding down Lee Highway on the way to the bike shop (luckily) when I shifted from 1st to 2nd and everything was fine. I attempted to shift from 2nd to 3rd and realized that I was stuck in 2nd gear...I let go of the clutch (giving it enough gas not to throw me off the front end with the engine compression) and attempted to shift again. No dice...luckily there was a gas station close by and I coasted in there. I stopped the bike, shut it off and shifted to neutral (because I was unable to while it was on) and took off the rest of the way to the bike shop. They asked me if I had pressure washed my bike (like I'm some squid who would do that) or if I had attempted any modifications to the bike. Of course I say no, I've only had this thing two weeks and am not that stupid. They told me that there was a point by my shift lever, I cant remember what it was called, that was supposed to have lube on it. This point was completely dry. He said that he adjusted my clutch also and that everything should be fine. He got a kick out of calling me Sergeant, because he was in the army many years ago and still gets kicks out of that sort of thing. Anyway, he tries to pull my bike out of service and says that he still doesnt like the way its shifting and that I need to bring it back today (as I would have been stranded there without riding the bike home). So here I am, with a helmet, a riding jacket, money in my pocket for gas, and nothing to ride. This is the reason I bought that bike instead of finishing my Katana early...was so that I had something to ride. He suspects it will be done tomorrow or Monday...sucks huh?

I just had to tell you guys about this...its a little frustrating, but hey I would rather it be in service than strand me or worse right?

I doubt that's what he's doing to it. It's likely something internal.

B, what's the status of your oil? Were you to the initial service yet?

I was only at 430 miles so I wasnt due for that first service yet...I suspect that it will only be about a week and a half after I get it back that I will have to take it back for it.
